DESCRIPTION:Public Invited to Local Hazard Mitigation Plan Kickoff MeetingThe Town of Warren invites residents, business owners, community organizations, and other interested individuals to participate in the kickoff meeting for the 2026 Local Hazard Mitigation Plan update.Tuesday, November 10, 202610:00 a.m.Warren Town Hall, 19 Water StreetA Local Hazard Mitigation Plan identifies hazards that could affect Warren—such as flooding, severe storms, wildfires, and extreme weather—and evaluates the risks they pose to residents, property, infrastructure, and essential services. The plan establishes practical actions the Town can take to reduce future damage and strengthen the community before disasters occur.The Town is looking forward to a robust, community-wide planning effort. Major employers, local businesses and contractors, healthcare providers, the food pantry, schools, community organizations, Town employees, volunteer boards, emergency responders, and regional partners have been invited to participate. Members of the public are also strongly encouraged to attend.This $10,000 project is grant funded and requires an in-kind match of employee and volunteer time. For grant-matching purposes, volunteer participation is valued at $34.79 per hour. More importantly, residents’ experience and local knowledge are essential to creating a practical and effective plan that reflects Warren’s needs.Please join us and help make Warren safer and better prepared for the future.
